Our vision

A world ofcreative abundance.

A world that connects, uplifts, and empowers one another through creative abundance.

Our mission

To highlight people's creative capabilities and support their self-expression.

Our core belief

Everyone is unique and creative.

Core values

Seven values on every page

They shape how we treat participants, partners and each other. Tap a panel to see it in action.

Our promise

Be Seen. Be Heard. Have Fun.

This is what every participant, colleague, employee, partner, and team member will experience.

Be Seen

People recognize and realize their value through self-expression.

Be Heard

People are able to express themselves openly and safely.

Have Fun

People engage with each other (and themselves) in supportive, collaborative environments.

And when these three things happen… Creative abundance emerges naturally.
How we think about AI

AI = Accessible Intelligence

We see AI as an accessibility tool. It opens creativity and self-expression to people who are usually left out.

People with disabilities. People in drug and alcohol recovery programs. People who can't draw, can't read or can't write. For many of them, AI is the first tool that lets the story in their head reach the page. That is why we don't shy away from it.

The human leads

Every character, story and choice starts with a person. AI helps them show what they already imagine.

2

We name the questions

AI is a new frontier, and it comes with real issues, including its impact on the environment. We don't pretend otherwise.

3

We keep learning

We work with environmental and subject-matter experts to continually understand AI's impacts, and we let what we learn shape how we work.

Our story

It began with a dream

Literally. Chris Cooley dreamed of making a comic with his friend Tony Martin, inspired by their friendship and the challenges they had each faced.

At Chris's dining-room table, in under two hours, the two of them created a character called Catalyst who carried the values they shared. If they could do that in an afternoon, so could anyone.

Chris Cooley, CEO and co-founder, leads our programs and partnerships. Tony Martin, co-founder, is an artist whose own comic, TONY Vol. 1: Self-Elevation, started it all.

Today our facilitators and designers, several of whom first joined as participants, work with schools, libraries, community programs, workplaces and individuals. About half of our staff and participants are neurodivergent or part of the disability community.
